Getting Here by CarTake the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick. A 13-kilometre engineering marvel, the Confederation Bridge is a very quick and convenient way to arrive or depart the Island. The Confederation Bridge is open 24 hours a day and takes approximately 12 minutes to cross. Tolls are collected only when leaving the Island. Northumberland Ferries operates on a schedule of about every hour and a half, offering a pleasant respite.
