Cream: A truly magical ingredient... just a dash can make any dish considerably tastier
.Cream is so rich-tasting that some fear it has no part in a healthy diet. Not true- as long as it's enjoyed in moderation. In fact, tow tablespoons of whipped cream supplyl only 5 g of fat and 49 cal (along with as much vitamin A as a peach!). Also, the fat in whipped cream is rich in conjungated linoleic acid (CLA), a substance tha may decrease the risk of some types of cancers. All in all, whipped cream is a perfect, utterly sumptious treat.
A little bit of cream goes a long way!
Here are a few ideas on how you can incorporate cream into soem of your favorite recipes:
- Make soups and chowders velvety smooth by adding cream.
- Add a dollop of whipped cream to your favorite hot or cold beverage to give it that extra touch.
- Use cream in your favorite seafood casserole to kick it up a few notches.
- Top your pasta with a cream-based sauce for pasta like no other.
- Whip up your own dip or salad dressing and enjoy with your favorite veggies.
